A lot of us, like myself, feel such obligations to agree to everything and anything that is presented to us, and we are scared that such no response might cause us to miss many opportunities and disappoint people around us. Sure, saying “no” comes with a powerful set of benefits like setting boundaries and safeguarding one’s own health but at the same time it paves our way for taking charge of our lives. Let’s explore how saying “no ” can be a stepping stone toward a much-needed balanced and fulfilling life.

Boundaries are one of the major sources of striving for a healthy balance between work, relationships and personal time. If they are not in place, we may soon be headed for the paths of burnout, resentment, and an inescapable feeling of being overwhelmed.
