Especially capsaicin and chilli peppers can help you in reducing your congestion and coughing that come with a postnasal drip. It depends on you how you want to consume chillies. 4- Marshmallow root

A lot of people don’t know that Marshmallow roots can do wonders to people who are suffering from congestion or a cough. This herb can specifically be used to get rid of all the irritation from coughing because of the high mucilage content that it comes with. As far as the consumption is concerned, well, you can easily find Marshmallow root tea bags or dried herb in the market.

In case, you’ve got tea bags of this herb; you can just warm up some water in that case and then put the tea bag inside and then after 2 to 3 minutes, add some honey in it and drink it.

5-Salt Water

Gargling saltwater has always been the first thing that people do when they have a sore throat or a bad cough. And honestly, it’s one of the most effective remedies that you will ever try. With saltwater, your root cause of coughing won’t be eliminated, but yes, you will get some relief from the pain and the irritation.
