Every year without fail, Samsung continues to bring something new and exciting to the mobile market. The Samsung Galaxy S10 made its debut this year and has been considerably improved from the previous version. The range features four different models differing in size, variety of camera and certain specifications. There is a massive difference between the price of this version and its predecessor which means that the s10 should really be worth it.

WHAT IS NEW?

There are some things in the S10 that have made their debut through this phone. Never before seen features make this model one of the best phones presently available.

HOLE PUNCH CAMERA

The screen of the s10 boasts infinity display, with the screen covering 88.3% of the front of the phone. It also features a Dynamic AMOLED dispay and a curved glass giving the edge to edge display. The front camera does not take up much space as it is merely a hole punched on the right side of the screen. This helps to put the s10 ahead of the likes of iPhone.

ULTRASONIC FINGERPRINT SENSOR

Featuring the first ultra-sonic finger sensor built-in the screen, the s10puts itself ahead in the technological game. This feature is much faster and safer than the rear fingerprint sensor present in the Galaxy s9. The ultra-sonic sensor, as the name suggests uses the help of sound vibrations to create a 3D map of your fingerprint.

ONE UI

Samsung has launched its One UI in the s10. It was previously featured in the s9 but as a beta version. This has been in a place of the older Experience UI. This features a better experience for the users overall. From one hand usage to navigation gestures, from the dark mode to smart orientation, this a cleaner upgrade to the previous interface.

WHAT ARE THE UPGRADES?

Some of the features that the Korean brand has improved have been mentioned below. These add up to make this latest flagship phone an instant winner amongst other similar phones.

3 CAMERAS NOT 1

There are 3 back cameras included in the s10 as compared to the 1 in the s9. The cameras are a 16-megapixel wide angle lens, a 12-megapixel ultra wide angle lens and a 12-megapixel telephoto one. The s9 only had one rear camera boasting 12-megapixels.

THE DESIGN

Samsung has always tried to remain true to its original design. That is what has taken place in the s10 as well. There aren’t many visible changes that can be seen on the first glance. The size of the s10 compared to the s9 is a mere 3 inches. However, the company has made this model much lighter and slimmer despite the larger screen. This in itself is an incredible feat.

UPGRADED RAM

The s9 despite having better features as compared to its predecessor featured a mere 4 GB RAM. This dissuaded many potential customers from buying it. Thankfully, Samsung has provided an 8 GB RAM in the Galaxy s10 making it twice as faster than the previous one. If that isn’t an upgrade, we don’t know what is.

BATTERY LIFE

Much like the design, the battery life didn’t see significant improvement or changes since the year 2017. The s9 also had a 3000 mAh battery like previous models of the Galaxy Series. The s10, although has an upgraded 3400 mAh battery. Fast battery charging and Wireless Powershare for Qi-compatible phones are featured in both the phones.

S10 OR S9: THE VERDICT

Although there are some similar features in both phones, there are certain aspects, such as the improved battery life, Ultra-sonic fingerprint sensor, and the Infinity O, that place the s10 ahead. In spite of the difference in prices, the Samsung Galaxy s10 is worth the switch.
